Marble Run.

Marble Run.
Material:  marbles, black foam core, white foam core, blue foam core, card stock (70lb), acrylic sheet, Exacto knife, scissors, duck tape, wood glue, all purpose glue, gel medium, brushes, copy paper, clear sealant, Ziploc bags, bamboo sticks, clothespins (used to help glue dry), markers, and water (for bath tub).
Dimensions:  28.5' x 42' x 9.25'
Date:  September 29, 2009

Inspiration:  I wanted to create a faucet that emptied water droplets into a bath tub, and have the marbles serve as the water droplets.  I over exaggerated the size of the water droplets and dwarfed the size of the bath tub to create a more playful, unrealistic structure.  My moments were when I turned the handle of the faucet, the marbles would empty out and the splash the marbles made as they emptied into the bath tub of water.

My marble run in process.
Forming the bath tub.

Letting the water droplets dry.

The structure before it is attached to its base.

My marble run completed.
